Christopher Marley's Incredible Insects Sticker Book

by Christopher Marley

As a kid, Christopher Marley was afraid of bugs. But after his travels took him to farflung parts of the world inhabited by amazing insects, his fear gave way to fascination. The variety of forms and colors in the insect world is almost endless. Did you know that beetles alone account for nearly a quarter of all animal species on Earth? So Marley began collecting beetles, bugs, butterflies, and other insects, arranging them into stunning works of art such as the one shown here. Its art with a purpose: if more people experience the incredible beauty of these creepycrawly critters, perhaps they will not be so squeamish about them (and will be less likely to squish them, too!). Who knows? Maybe these stickers will help lead you, like Christopher Marley, to a lifetime of learning about the amazing world of insects! 8 page softcover book with more than 200 reusable paper stickers (99 different designs) featuring photographs of insects by Christopher Marley. Includes a diagram identifying all the insects.

Exquisite Creatures 2020 Calendar: The Art of Christopher Marley

by Christopher Marley

Devoid of any creepy-crawliness or wriggly-slitheriness, Christopher Marley’s arrangements transform jewel-like arthropods, knobbly urchins, stately crustaceans, swirling sea stars, and brilliant fish into stunning works of art. Each is presented in its natural state, its colors true to life.
Marley’s work began with insects, combining a passion for entomology with a keen eye for design to produce kaleidoscopic bug mandalas and striking up-close-and-personal insect portraits. The goal: an increased appreciation of insects can help slow humanity’s destruction of their habitat, the foremost threat to their survival. Recently, Marley has branched out: working with zoos, museums, and other institutions, he reclaims fish, snakes, and other organisms that have died from natural causes; others come from food supply lines (no vertebrates are harmed for his art).
All of Pomegranate’s calendars are printed with soy-based inks on FSC® certified paper, which means the paper has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® and manufactured by an FSC certified printer. FSC certification promotes responsible forest management by ensuring that forestry practices are environmentally responsible, socially equitable, and economically viable.
