About the Author


Geninne D Zlatkis is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. She lives in the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico, at 7,000 feet above sea level with her husband, Manolo, their two sons, and an adorable Red Heeler mix named Zorro. Geninne was born in New York, but shortly after her birth, her parents began traveling around South America, where she lived in seven different countries and attended several English-language schools. After studying architecture in Chile for a couple of years, she moved to Mexico City and switched her focus to art. Geninne works in a variety of media, including watercolor, ink, and pencil, and she often incorporates her great love of birds and flowers into her art. She also sews and embroiders and loves to hand-carve rubber stamps.

About the Author


Kinuko Y. Craft is one of the most widely respected and versatile artists in the United States. Her past commissions have included editorial art for major national magazines such as Time, Newsweek, Forbes, National Geographic, and many others; book jacket art for a number of well-known authors; opera poster designs; and illustrated picture books. Her work appears throughout the world in both private and public collections, in galleries and exhibitions, and in her illustrated books. During her career she has become known for meticulous attention to detail, a passionate love of fine art, and a deep knowledge of art history. Ms. Craft was born in Japan and holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Kanazawa College of Art in Japan. She came to the United States in the early sixties as a graduate student, where she continued her studies in design and illustration at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. By the late sixties, her work was in wide demand and she had begun a long and successful career that continues to this day. Her original art can be seen at Borsini-Burr Gallery in Montara, CA.

Andres Amador's designs are influenced not only by fractal forms and sacred geometry but also by the shape of the beach and the surrounding landscape. With his canvas only available during low tide, Amador creates his sand paintings quickly but thoughtfully before the incoming tide washes them away.
About the Author
Andres Amador is a San Francisco-based Earthscape artist. His work can span well over 100,000 square feet (about 35,000 square meters) and is done at low tide (generally in under two hours) using only a rake and other simple tools. The ephemeral artworks do not last long, and they even begin to wash away before he has completed them. Amador and his creations have been featured by the BBC, CNN, the Discovery Channel and on numerous television programs and in periodicals.
